弊校でも日本へ行ってナンパをしたいと考える学習者が少なからずいます。
本投稿ではそういった学生に向けて女性にモテる条件についての助言をしたいと思います。
Even at our school, there are quite a few learners who are interested in going to Japan and trying
to pick up girls. In this post, we'd like to provide advice on what makes men attractive to women.
まず､ 日本人女性にモテたいと考えている学生には鳥類学の性淘汰を参考にされることをお勧めします。 鳥の場合は一般的に雄のほうが大きく美しく､ 雌は小型で地味です。
勿論雌のほうが美しい種も少なからずいますが､美しい雄は雌に配偶者として選ばれることが多いです。
日本の国鳥であるキジやクジャク、オシドリなどは雄のほうが
派手できらびやかな羽色をしています。
これらの雌鳥が雄を査定する一つの基準は顔の赤い肉垂れの鮮やかさや
羽の目玉模様の多さなどの見た目の派手さであるといわれています。

First, I recommend that students who want to be attractive to Japanese women consider
the principles of sexual selection in ornithology as a reference.
In birds, generally, males are larger and more beautiful,
while females are smaller and more plain.
Of course, there are species where females are also beautiful,
but it's often thought that beautiful males are more likely to be chosen by females as mates.
The national bird of Japan, the Japanese green pheasant, as well as birds such as peafowl and mandarin duck, has males with flashy and brilliant plumage.
It is said that one criterion female birds use to evaluate males is their appearance,
including the brightness of the red wattles on their faces and the abundance of
eye-catching eye-like patterns on their feathers.

雌雄がほぼ同色の鳥の場合、雌は生活能力で雄を選ぶことが多いです。
この場合の生活能力というのは狩りの能力の高さを意味しています。
雄は狩りをし、雌に貢ぐことで自己アピールをし、雌はその餌の量を査定することで､
将来の収入を評価します。
In the case of birds where males and females are almost identical in colour,
females often choose males based on their survival skills. In this context,
survival skills refer to their hunting abilities.
Males hunt and contribute prey to females as a means of self-appeal,
and females assess the quantity of this food to evaluate potential future income.

その一方で､ 歌声やダンスなどで自身の魅力を売り込んだり､ 雌を懸命に引き付けようとする鳥も
数多くいます。研究の結果､ 囀りが複雑で美しく､ 歌のレパートリーが広い雄ほど
メスに好まれることが明らかになっています。

また､ セキセイインコは人間の2歳児並みの知能を持つと言われており､
雌にとっては容姿や歌が優れた雄よりも問題解決能力が優れていて
知能が高い雄のほうが魅力的な存在であるという研究結果もあります。

On the other hand, there are many birds that promote their attractiveness through singing
and dancing, making earnest efforts to captivate females.
Research has shown that males with complex and beautiful songs,
as well as a wide repertoire of tunes, tend to be more preferred by females.

Furthermore, it's said that budgerigars possess intelligence comparable to
that of a two-year-old human child.
Research suggests that, for female budgerigars, males with superior problem-solving abilities and higher intelligence are more attractive than males with exceptional appearance or singing skills.
他にもタンチョウやアホウドリのようにダンスを交わし、
お互いの相性を慎重に見極めてから付き合う鳥もいます。
アホウドリの場合､ カップルが形成されるまで2, 3年は
毎年求愛ダンスを繰り返すと言われています。

There are also birds like cranes and albatrosses that engage in dances,
carefully assessing their compatibility before forming relationships.
In the case of albatrosses, it is said that couples repeat courtship dances annually
for 2 to 3 years until a pair bond is formed.

このようにこれまで鳥は種類によって配偶者を求めるポイントや判断材料が異なると考えられてきましたが､
実際のところ雌がどういった基準で雄を選んでいるのかはさまざまな諸説があり､
まだ全容の解明には至っていません。
特筆すべき点は同じ種類の雌鳥でも雌が雄に求める条件は どの個体も同じではなく､
雌によって好みは多種多様で見た目を重視したり､ あるいは運動能力を重視したりするということが
最近になってわかってきたということです。

Thus far, it has been thought that birds seek mates based on various criteria
and judgment materials depending on the species.
However, the actual criteria by which females choose males vary widely,
and there are still various theories regarding this.
The full understanding of how females select males has not yet been fully elucidated.
A noteworthy point is that even within the same species, the criteria females seek in males are not identical among individuals. It has recently become evident that female preferences vary widely,
with some prioritizing appearance while others emphasize athletic ability.

前述したキジやクジャクなども時代の変化に伴い雌の好みが変化してきて見た目よりも鳴き声を
重視しているという説もあります。ですので､ 今はどうすれば自分がモテるかということについては
深く考えず日本語の勉強に注力することがよろしいのではないかと存じます。
There's a theory that even species like the pheasant and peafowl, mentioned earlier,
have seen changes in female preferences, with some now valuing vocalizations over appearance. Therefore, we believe it would be beneficial to focus
on studying Japanese without delving deeply into thoughts
about how to become popular or attractive at the moment.
