命令形は聞き手に対する命令や指示をする意味で文末で言い切る活用形の一つです。
Imperative Form is one of the conjugation forms used to
give commands or instructions to the listener.
主に男性が目下の者に強く命令する際に使われますが、
女性もスポーツ観戦などの際にも用いたり、地震や火事などの非常時、工場などの危険性を伴う場所などでの注意書きや看板標識などにもよく使用されたりします。
It is mainly used when men strongly command subordinates, but women also use it,
for example, during sports events or in emergencies such as earthquakes or fires, or in places
with potential danger like factories, where it is commonly found in signs and notices.
例１）
父親：もう 11時だぞ。早く 寝ろ！
(Father：It’s already 11o’clock. Go to bed!)
息子：わかってるよ！
(Son：I got it!)
例２）
飼い主：待て！
(Owner： Stop!)
犬：ワン。
(Dog: Woof.)
例３）(スポーツの 試合で - During a sports match)
観客：勝て！がんばれ～！
(Spectator: Win! Do your best!)
例４）(災害などの非常時 - During times of emergency such as a disaster)
A：あ、本棚が 倒れる！気を つけろ！
(Oh, the bookshelf is going to fall! Look out!)
B：みんな 逃げろ～！
(Everyone, run!)
例５）(部長から社員に - The department head says to the employee)
A：明日までに 報告書を 出して くれ。
(Submit the report by tomorrow.)
B：はい、承知いたしました。
(Yes, I understand.)
１グループの動詞の命令形（ます形を基準にした場合）は、語尾の最後の音の母音をい段からえ段に変えます。For Group 1 verbs, when forming the imperative based on the -masu form,
change the final vowel of the verb stem from the i row to the e row.
２グループの動詞の命令形（ます形を基準にした場合）は、『ます』を『ろ』に置き換えて作ります。
ただし、「くれます」の場合は「くれ」となります。
For Group 2 verbs, when forming the imperative based on the -masu form, replace '-masu' with '-ro'.
However, in the case of 'kuremasu', it becomes 'kure'.
３グループの動詞の命令形は、「します → しろ」「来ます → 来い」です。
また、動詞「します」の命令形には「しろ」のほかに、より古風で硬い表現である「せよ」があります。
「せよ」は、規則や指示、公的文書などの書き言葉で用いられることが多く、形式張った、古典的な印象を
与えます。
For Group 3 verbs, the imperative forms are 'suru → shiro' and 'kimasu → koi'.
In addition, the verb shimasu has another imperative form, seyo, in addition to shiro,
which is a more archaic and formal expression. Seyo is often used in written language such as rules, instructions, and official documents, and it gives a formal, classical impression.
